The Tver Region in Russia saw a significant increase in milk production by farms by 14.4% in the first nine months of 2024, reaching 172.2 thousand tons. Over 80% of this production was by agricultural organizations, with a total of 138 thousand tons. The sales of milk also increased by 11.5% compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 163.6 thousand tons. There has also been a notable increase in the milk yield per cow, with farms achieving 4942 kg per head on average, a 10.8% increase, and agricultural organizations seeing a 12% increase to 5660 kg per head. The region also saw a slight increase in its cattle population to 82.4 thousand heads, with a 3.2% increase to 34.8 thousand cows.
