The Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, has met with the Chinese ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, to discuss the suspension of beef exports to China following the confirmation of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) in an animal in Marabá, Pará. The suspension is in line with the health protocol between the two countries. The Chinese ambassador underscored China's appreciation of Brazil's compliance with sanitary protocols and expressed interest in enhancing agricultural cooperation. The sample from the affected animal is being analyzed at the World Organization for Animal Health laboratory in Alberta, Canada.
