The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Carlos Fávaro, and the Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture (MDA), Paulo Teixeira, received representatives of banana producers from various regions of Brazil on this Tuesday (30). Accompanying the producers were Senator Jaime Bagatolli, deputies Enio Tatto, from (PT-SP), Jorge Gotten (Rep-SC), Sandra Kennedy, national secretary of Institutional Articulation of the Ministry of Women, councilors, and mayors from various cities. The producers came to talk about the opening of the Brazilian market to import banana production from Ecuador and the concern with some phytosanitary issues in the production of that country, particularly the fungus Fusarium oxysporum race 4.
