The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) of Zimbabwe has announced the producer prices for the 2021/22 season, which have received mixed reactions from farmers. The prices per tonne are: maize $58,553.25, traditional grain $70,263.90, soya bean $125,530.17, and sunflower $150,636.20. The Women in Agriculture Union (WAU) welcomes these prices, believing they will boost agricultural production and provide financial stability for women farmers. However, some farmers express concerns that these prices may be eroded by inflation by harvest time and suggest that GMB should peg the prices in a more stable currency like the United States dollar.
