Mokpo Fisheries Cooperative (Chairman Kim Cheong-ryong) plans to establish a dried laver processing plant and build an FPC (Fishery Products Distribution Center) in stages to stabilize the income of fishermen and develop the laver industry. Moving beyond the simple level of raw material procurement, the plan includes integrating processing, storage, logistics, and quality control functions through vertical integration to establish a systematic production and distribution base. Notably, this initiative is expected to create opportunities for brand development through a joint venture with Orion Fisheries Cooperative, which is being promoted by the Central Fisheries Cooperative Association, thereby securing a sales network and potentially expanding into overseas markets. By participating directly in the market through collaboration with companies, the cooperative aims to resolve supply and demand instability.
