The European Commission is considering changing its proposal for a budget for the period 2028-2034 worth 1.8 trillion euros to gain the support of the European Parliament, said European budget commissioner Piotr Serafin to POLITICO. At the center of the dispute are the Commission's plans to change regional and agricultural payments, which MEPs claim exclude Parliament and regional leaders from the decision-making process regarding budget allocation.
