As of mid-November, Belgium's potato production is estimated at 3.27 million tonnes, which is 2% above the five-year average but slightly below last year's figures due to a decrease from 4.43 million tonnes to 4.31 million tonnes. Sales have been slower, with only 1.04 million tonnes sold by mid-November, marking a significant drop compared to previous years. However, the quantity of delivered contract potatoes has increased by 21% over the five-year average, resulting in a larger proportion of free potatoes in storage, about one third, compared to last year and the five-year average.
