Brazil: More than 60% of Mato Grosso's corn is exported through the Ports of Arco Norte

Corn exports from Mato Grosso reached 16.89 million tons between January and September 2024. Of this total, approximately 10.28 million tons were sent through the ports of Arco Norte, representing 60.89% of the exported volume. In turn, the ports of Arco Sul contributed 39.11% to exports in the same period. It is important to highlight that, in 2021, Arco Norte's share was 47.63%. The recent increase is due to investments in infrastructure, which especially strengthened operations in the ports of Barcarena and Santarém, in Pará. According to the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (IMEA), the ports of Arco Norte exported, together, 8.65 million tons of corn from Mato Grosso in 2024, which corresponds to 84.09% of the entire volume exported in the North region.
