A new regulation in Mozambique has strengthened the ban on selling cashew nuts before the official start of the 2024-2025 marketing campaign, aiming to increase the quantity and quality of the product sold. The Almonds Institute of Mozambique (IAM) has set a reference purchase price of 45.00 meticais per kilogram for the marketing campaign, which will be updated based on international market fluctuations. Trade and industry associations are encouraged to promote and comply with marketing procedures, and prices at the secondary level will be set based on product quality and mutual agreement. The marketing of cashew nuts will be conducted through transactions involving actors registered with the IAM or local administrative authorities delegated by it.
