Partly out of necessity, partly out of sober consideration, the MTZ/Belarus, which is also popular in Hungary, has entered into a close alliance with a major Chinese manufacturer. The Belarusian MTZ/Belarus tractor brand is not unknown to Hungarian farmers, and before the regime change, it was the most widespread power machine in production cooperatives. The range then became much more abundant from the 1990s onwards, and the use of the former Soviet make declined on domestic lands. Nevertheless, the Minsk manufacturer continues to be among the largest global players. Although many components are produced in-house, they tend to compromise and cooperate in terms of resources. MTZs can feature Caterpillar, Perkins, Deutz engines, as well as Lombardini, although the latter mainly provide drive in plantation tractors.
