(Muan=Yonhap News) The Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation announced on the 22nd that it will gather opinions from farmers in line with the purchase of 2025 crop public reserve rice.
The Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperative visited the purchase site at the Okcheon Agricultural Cooperative's OK Rice Center in Haenam, among others, to listen to concerns.
Recently, rice stripe virus has occurred in Jeonnam at about 13,330 hectares, more than four times the amount from last year, raising concerns about a decrease in milling rate and quality.
The Agricultural Cooperative is implementing measures such as strengthening grade-based storage management to prevent the mixing of damaged rice and compensating for damages through disaster insurance riders, by gathering opinions from farmers.
Head of the Jeonnam Headquarters, Lee Gwang-il, said, "The Agricultural Cooperative will do its best to ensure that farmers receive fair prices through the purchase of public reserve rice and price stabilization management."
