In the first half of this summer, drought in many places made it difficult for mushrooms to develop, but the heavy rainfalls that occurred across the country created a new situation. Typically, fresh waves of mushroom growth begin 5-7 days after the soil becomes saturated. According to experts, in the coming days, we can already encounter the most well-known, sought-after edible species. In the forests, the first to appear will be the chanterelle, milkcap, and fox mushroom, and in many places, the wood blewit may also emerge. In Hungary, mushroom foraging is not only a tradition but also a supplementary source of income for many rural families.
