The National Milk Council has declared a price hike for raw cow milk to 14.65 Turkish Lira (TL) per liter starting May 1, 2024. This new price, aimed at milk with specific fat and protein content, does not include additional supports and is the net amount producers will receive. Costs such as cooling and transportation are to be borne by the manufacturers. The price adjustment also includes a mechanism to modify the price based on slight variations in fat and protein content, with the possibility of further revisions depending on market dynamics and production costs. This announcement marks an increase from the previous rate of 13.5 TL per liter set in January of the same year.
