The SANPOR Project, coordinated by the Agrarian Technological Institute of Castilla y León (Itacyl), is focused on enhancing pig fattening processes by exploring natural antimicrobial solutions like probiotics, prebiotics, and dietary fiber. This initiative aims to improve animal health, feed efficiency, and reduce environmental impacts, notably ammonia emissions. By collaborating with Lallemand Animal Nutrition and Granjas Baeza-Fraile, the project seeks to minimize antibiotic use and boost the economic and environmental sustainability of pig farms in Castilla y León, a prominent pig production area in Spain.
