[Yanggu] Recently, in Dochon-ri, Yanggu-gun Central Township, a house fire has led to the villagers voluntarily coming together for damage recovery, creating a heartwarming story. According to local residents, around 4:21 PM on the 29th of last month, a fire broke out in a house in Dochon-ri, completely destroying one house and one greenhouse. Although there were no casualties, property damage was estimated by the fire authorities to be around 29 million won. Following the fire, the villagers immediately joined forces. On the 1st, Dochon-ri Chief Jo Byeong-seon delivered an urgent notice through the village head, asking for cooperation in emergency activities such as fire separation and demolition, despite the residents being busy. The next day, despite it being the pre-harvest season, the residents gathered at the village hall to begin cleaning up the damaged house. Over the course of about four hours, they moved the burnt household items outside and sorted them for burial and incineration. Additionally, organizations such as the Yanggu Central Church and the Yanggu Central Branch of the Korean Association for the Improvement of Living Standards extended their helping hands, and by the 13th, all demolition was completed. For the residents who lost their homes due to the sudden fire, the help from their neighbors has been a great comfort. Chief Jo Byeong-seon said, "When something difficult happens, helping each other is the strength of the village," and added that the residents will continue to support the affected families so they can quickly return to their daily lives.
