Nestlé, the food company, announced on Thursday that it will eliminate 16,000 jobs worldwide over the next two years, representing between 5% and 6% of its workforce, to reduce its costs by just over 1 billion Swiss francs (1.075 billion euros) by 2027. Nestlé will let go of 12,000 workers from administrative areas and the remaining 4,000 will be from production areas and supply chains, as explained in a statement. The announcement coincided with the release of the company's latest financial results, which between January and September this year recorded a turnover of 65.869 billion Swiss francs (70.700 billion euros), which is 1.2 billion Swiss francs (1.290 billion euros) less than in the same period of 2024.
