Nestlé reported this Sunday, the 14th, that there were no victims and no need to evacuate the factory located in Araras, in the interior of São Paulo, which was hit by a fire in the afternoon. According to a company statement sent to Estadão, there was no impact on the factory's operation, as the affected equipment is located in the external area of the company.
According to a report by Estadão published earlier and based on confirmation by the Fire Department, the fire started around 4 PM and has already been contained.
The fire affected a conveyor belt for wood chips, which feeds a boiler in the factory. Five vehicles were called to the scene.
The factory was inaugurated in 1921 to produce condensed milk. Currently, the site produces items such as instant coffee and powdered chocolate drink.
