Livestock farming will embark on 2026 with some clear changes. One of the most important involves the anti-foot-and-mouth disease vaccination campaigns, where the second dose will be excluded for the minor category. In line with this new strategy, the Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (Senasa) defined a new official schedule. The agency promised that this way, ranchers will save 14 million doses valued at 22 million dollars. As announced last September, vaccination will cease to be mandatory for the bovine categories of heifers, steers, and young bulls starting from the second campaign, understanding that the inoculation guarantees "an immunity duration of 6 months in animals first vaccinated and one year in animals revaccinated."
