A new port, Port of Narungga, has been opened in Wallaroo, South Australia, capable of exporting up to 500,000 tonnes of grain annually. The project, a collaboration between T-Ports and the Narungga Nation Aboriginal Corp., involved a $100 million investment. The port is expected to support around 100 jobs during peak grain harvest and provide an alternate grain export pathway for growers in the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North regions. Since 2018, T-Ports has invested over $280 million in improving port infrastructure, aiming to increase competition, offer better market access, and boost grower profits. The port is set to contribute to local employment and economic growth, aligning with South Australia's goal of being a leading agricultural exporter.
