A new citrus fruit processing plant has been opened in Georgia's Mukhaestate village, capable of processing 40 tons of tangerines per day. The plant, which currently employs 60 local residents, is expected to process up to 500 tons of citrus fruits in its first year of operation. The plant has received financing of about $29,000 from the state as part of a rural entrepreneurship grant program. The majority of the processed citrus fruits will be exported to Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
