The Soil Association, a food and farming charity, conducted an investigation called 'Out to Lunch' to evaluate children's menus at high street restaurants for health, sustainability, and dining experience. The investigation revealed that some chains do not use any British meat and have questionable sourcing practices, with meat sourced from countries with lower welfare and antibiotic regulations. On the other hand, chains like Wahaca, Toby Carvery, and Nando's were commended for using 100% British meat. The charity criticized the lack of support for British farming and called for better traceability, responsible antibiotic use, and higher welfare standards in meat sourcing.
