The meatpacking company Estancias de Patagonia SA announced the acquisition of Industria Fuhrmann SAU, based in Trelew, Chubut, and a leader in the export of clean wool. Born in Germany and previously controlled by the Italian group Schneider, the purchase allows Estancias de Patagonia SA, based in Río Gallegos, to expand its influence in the national wool market by integrating one of the most historic and relevant entities in its commercialization and industrialization. The amount of the operation was not disclosed. Estancias de Patagonia SA is a registered brand of quality and excellence in sheep meat in Patagonia. It processes 8,000 tons of sheep, cattle, and has also ventured into guanacos, among its two meatpacking plants, Estancias de Patagonia and Faimali SA, integrated by 66 producer partners.
