The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) has expressed approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock's decision to authorize additional animal protein plants for export to South Africa. This includes thirteen poultry and five pork processing plants. South Africa, a key partner in Brazil's animal protein trade, ranks as the fifth largest importer of Brazilian chicken meat, having imported 276.5 thousand tons from January to October, generating US$ 154 million. The new authorizations are anticipated to boost chicken and pork exports, improve food security in South Africa, and strengthen bilateral trade relations.
