Turkey's National Olive and Olive Oil Council expects a record harvest of 475 thousand tons of olive oil and 750 thousand tons of table olives for the 2024-2025 season, making it a new record for the country. The estimation is based on a study conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the National Olive and Olive Oil Council, with a change in the format to include more field studies and censuses. Turkey, currently ranked second in the world in olive cultivation, has over 200 million olive trees, with 172 million bearing fruit. The estimated yield of 475 thousand tons of olive oil surpasses the previous record of 421 thousand tons. However, a stock of around 100-150 thousand tons from last year's restricted exports remains.
