The vice president and minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, said he believes that the reductions in the tariffs applied by the United States to Brazilian products will be made "step by step." He highlighted that the total of goods still affected by the tariff surge has fallen from 36% to 22%. "These things do not depend on us. If it were up to us, it would be 100% to resolve. I believe it will be step by step," the vice president declared in an interview with journalist Reinaldo Azevedo's program ReConversa on YouTube. "They [the Americans] are removing [tariffs] in stages. I would say that the next stages will be positive," he added.
