Nigeria, a major global cocoa bean producer, will begin supplying cocoa beans to Russia in September-October, aligning with the autumn harvest. Russian trade representative Maxim Petrov announced that top Russian chocolate manufacturers have approved the quality of Nigerian cocoa beans. These beans will be delivered by Russian trading houses that already export various products to Nigeria. This initiative aims to diversify Russia's cocoa sources away from unfriendly countries and capitalize on favorable prices due to a good harvest, with cocoa prices having dropped from $12,000 per ton in March to just over $7,500 recently.
