A recent study in Russia has found that there has been a threefold increase in the consumption of meat and dairy alternatives among city dwellers over the past year and a half. The most popular alternatives are soy meat and dairy products like oat, rice, soybean, and nut-based milk. This trend is particularly prevalent among young people and the wealthy. However, the study also highlights the importance of maintaining a balanced diet with these alternatives, as they may lack essential nutrients found in animal products. The study was conducted by the 'Eat Better' project and NAFI analytical center, involving 1.6 thousand participants.
