Mayor Baek Seong-hyeon signed the MOU with RS Group CEO Lee Seung-joon and PT. Shine Factory CEO Yeo Jong-ryul the previous day. The city and the two companies will invest in strawberry smart farm facilities, smart agriculture technology and consulting, and Indonesian local distribution and marketing to strengthen the international competitiveness of the strawberry industry and establish a global promotional cooperation system for the Strawberry Industry Expo. RS Group, founded in 1981, currently has over 20 affiliates in the Southeast Asian region and supports the entry of Korean companies into Southeast Asia in various fields such as health and bio-industry, defense industry, resource development, and venture investment. PT. Shine Factory is a company that grows and distributes tomatoes locally in Indonesia, supplying to 102 offline stores through 15 regional distribution channels. The city plans to secure a stable agricultural food export route to Indonesia, the most populous country in Southeast Asia, and actively promote the Strawberry Industry Expo in the Southeast Asian region through cooperation with the two companies. Meanwhile, the 2026 Nonsan City Agricultural Food Overseas Expo, held in Jakarta from the 6th to the 9th, received local praise and surpassed 450,000 visitors, selling out the 25 tons of strawberries prepared. The city plans to sell an additional 16 tons of strawberries in five large local stores after the expo.
