[Nongsuchuksan Newspaper=Reporter Park Nara] The area of Jung-ri, Gwangseok-myeon, Nonsan-si, Chungnam, will be established as the nation's first resource-recycling type smart livestock complex demonstration site. The Chungnam Province (Governor Kim Tae-heum) and Nonsan City (Mayor Baek Sung-hyun) plan to invest a total of 93.1 billion won (including national funds, local funds, loans, and self-burden) to demolish the existing pig farming complex, convert livestock manure into biogas, and produce and utilize electricity and thermal energy, aiming to complete the smart livestock complex by 2028. The Gwangseok smart livestock complex is a key project to resolve the long-standing regional issue of odor complaints and to present a new future model for the livestock industry. The Chungnam Province and Nonsan City held the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in March last year.
