In South Korea, North Gyeongsang province nectarine Keumhong, entered Hong Kong and Thailand

[Reporter Park Doo-kyung, Korea Rural Newspaper] On the 1st, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services, in cooperation with the Gyeongbuk Peach Export Agricultural Support Group and Gyeongsan City, exported nectarine peach ‘Geumhong’ to Hong Kong and Thailand for the first time. This pilot export was prepared to expand export markets such as Hong Kong and Thailand, diversify consumption, and improve awareness of nectarines produced in Gyeongbuk in overseas markets, in order to solve the problem of supply and demand instability and price drop of domestic peaches. Nectarine peach 'Geumhong' is a yellow and sweet variety that can be eaten with the peel, with a fruit weight of 280g and sugar content of 13.5 Brix, with maturity in early August. It is expected to attract overseas consumers as well.
