The Oil and Fat Union states that oilseed flax production will remain consistent with the previous season, while the production of linseed oil is forecasted to increase by 1.5 times and reach a record 50 thousand tons in the 2023/24 agricultural year. China is the main buyer of Russian oilseed flax and oil, followed by Belgium, Turkey, Latvia, and Poland. Russia is the top global exporter of oilseed flax, with a market share of over 80%, and ranks second in the world for the export of crude linseed oil. The union believes there is potential to expand deliveries to the Asian region and Middle East due to high demand for healthy products, as flaxseed oil is used in various industries.
