The country's main lettuce varieties, Romana and Orejona, accounted for 98% of the national harvest. In 2020, Guanajuato emerged as the leading producer, contributing 27.3% of the total production. The United States was the primary destination for Mexican lettuce exports, which experienced an annual growth rate of 11.4% from 2015 to 2020, averaging 200 thousand tons per year.
