On the tail end: The value of agricultural production in our country falls by 8%

Agricultural production in the European Union was valued at 531.9 billion euros at basic prices in 2024, a decrease of 0.9% compared to the previous 12 months. This marks the second consecutive year of a slight decline in value from the peak in 2022. This change in nominal value reflects the balance between a slight increase in production volume – by 1% and a decrease in the nominal price of agricultural goods and services – by 1.8%. For the same period, the EU's agricultural industry generated a gross value added of approximately 228.6 billion euros in 2024. Agricultural statistics indicate that agriculture contributed 1.2% to the EU's GDP in 2024. This information comes from the 2024 agricultural economic accounts data published by Eurostat.
