Crayfish hunting has resumed in Lake Eğirdir, Turkey, after an 8-month ban was lifted. The lake, which accounts for 20% of Turkey's crayfish production, is now open for fishing, with crayfish over 10.5 centimeters being exported to Northern Europe and other regions. Despite challenges like climate change and excessive grazing affecting water levels, the season is expected to be profitable. Local fishermen are optimistic about the crayfish abundance this year, with prices set at 135 TL per kilogram.
