A new pig slaughterhouse, capable of processing over 900 pigs daily, is set to open in Zafra, Badajoz, with the attendance of key Spanish authorities and industry representatives. Owned by Cibex S.L., which includes partners like Argal, Campofrío, and Señorío de Montanera, the slaughterhouse will occupy a 50-hectare site and initially cost over 20 million euros, with 6 million euros supported by the regional government. The facility aims to enhance the pig processing industry, potentially reducing transport costs and increasing value added in Extremadura.
