At the beginning of the 2025/26 economic year, the European Union's rapeseed imports fell dramatically. Based on July and August data, only 441,271 tons of rapeseed arrived in the community, which represents a nearly 50 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. The two largest suppliers—Ukraine and Australia—also ended with significant declines: 67 percent less rapeseed arrived from Ukraine and 62 percent less from Australia compared to last year at this time. One of the most important factors is that the EU's rapeseed production this year significantly exceeds that of previous years. The domestic supply has thus already reduced the demand for imports.
