Opinion: There is a risk for Bulgarian rose oil

This was stated by Agri.BG by Gergana Andreeva, the Executive Director of the National Association of Essential Oils, Perfumery and Cosmetics. She was part of a Bulgarian delegation visiting China. Bulgarian rose producers and processors participated in a Seminar on Rose Production, Innovations and Cosmetics, where they learned from various Chinese lecturers how edible and oil-bearing roses are grown in the Asian country, what cultivation techniques are used, and what processing options are applied. "We did not expect this. We were shared information related to their good practices," said Andreeva, adding: "I dare say that our Rose Institute lags behind in gene research, in improving varietal purity."
