A slaughterhouse was closed and seized after 13 cases of trichinosis were confirmed in the town of General Cabrera. The measure was executed by the Ministry of Bioagroindustry, through the Directorate General of Fiscalization and Control, together with officers from the Rural Police South and municipal personnel. Inspections determined that the inspected establishments, distributed in the Juárez Celman department, carried out slaughters without official authorization and marketed pork meat and by-products of clandestine origin, without adequate sanitary and hygienic conditions. During the operation, approximately 100 kilos of meat and by-products were seized and destroyed in a licensed slaughterhouse with a digester, upon verifying that their origin was not suitable for human consumption.
