The 2023/24 input distribution for cashew farmers in Tanzania has been launched by the CBT, including sulphur flour, water disinfectants, and spray pipes. The government's goal is to increase cashew production from 240,159 tons to 700,000 tons and increase yield per tree from 10kg to 35kg. So far, essential supplies such as sulphur and water disinfectants have been received, and farmers have ordered 5,250 spray pipes. These inputs are undergoing quality checks, and distributions are being organized through cooperative unions to ensure timely supply to farmers in regions like Mtwara, Lindi, Coastal, and Ruvuma. These regions contribute significantly to Tanzania's cashew production, with the market showing promising growth and promising prices in Ivory Coast, Ghana, and India.
