The President of the Combine Harvesters and Harvest Machinery Federation, Ahmet Saltık, stated that the economic lifespan of combine harvesters in Europe is determined to be 3,000 hours, saying, "If you work 300 hours a year, the economic lifespan is completed in 10 years. However, we have 15-16 thousand working hours. We also operate those that have completed their economic lifespan." Saltık pointed out that there is a near 20 percent harvest loss across Turkey, which also negatively affects combine harvesters.
