Pakistan has exported its first batch of farmed shrimp to Vietnam, entering the global $57 billion shrimp farming industry. The shipment was from a pilot project in Muzaffargarh, Punjab, with a goal of achieving an annual export volume of $2 billion. The Pakistan Special Investment Facilitation Committee and the Green Pakistan Initiative are collaborating to modernize the industry and tap into Pakistan's aquaculture potential. The federal and provincial governments are working together to attract investment, expand the market, and export more seafood to countries like Jordan and the United States. This shrimp export to Vietnam is a significant step towards integrating Pakistan into the global aquaculture trade and promoting its economic growth and agricultural diversification.
