During the first 11 months of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, Iran exported 550,000 tons of apples worth $170 million, with the main destinations being Pakistan, Iraq, India, Russia, and Afghanistan. This is a decrease from the 985,000 tons exported in the previous fiscal year, which had made Iran the world's second-largest apple exporter. However, production was also down by 7% due to weather conditions, with a total of 4 million tons produced and the apple growing area covering 247,000 ha, making Iran the third largest apple grower in the world.
