In Pakistan's northern Gilgit-Baltistan region, cherry season promises to bring double the income for farmers as China has decided to import cherries for the first time from GB. A delegation from China visited GB to sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for cherry trade and assessed the local production. The export of cherries to China is expected to begin once all necessary procedures are met. This could significantly boost the agricultural sector and provide economic benefits for the farmers. Meanwhile, Pakistan and China have launched two new air cargo routes to strengthen connectivity, aiming to facilitate the transportation of Pakistani fruits, seafood, and other goods to China, and delivering Chinese goods to the Pakistani market.
