The Pakistani government is planning to ban tomato and onion exports for the next three months to address recent price surges. This decision was made by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin after discussions with the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Despite there being no official ban on the export of perishable goods, no onions have been exported in the last month, and both onions and tomatoes have been imported from Afghanistan. The Finance Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining domestic supply and may not fully ban the exports.
