The Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Importers and Exporters Association (APFVEA) has warned that the country may fall short of its 100,000-ton mango export target for 2023 due to the effects of climate change and the unavailability of mangoes that meet export standards. Mango production in Pakistan, especially due to adverse weather and pest issues, has been declining for the third year in a row. Other challenges include increased costs and competition in the export market. Despite these hurdles, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan anticipates that mango exports this season will surpass 100,000 tons, as demand in the Middle East market remains strong.
