Palm heart exports from Peru did not grow in 2020

(Agraria.pe) Compared with 2019, in 2020 Peruvian exports of palm heart decreased 3% in volume and remained unchanged in value after reaching 3,649 tons for US $ 8.6 million. In France, the main destination market with a 50% share, shipments amounted to 1,934 tons for US $ 4.3 million, thus growing 39% in volume and 53% in value compared to the previous year. Likewise, the US market, which ranked second, grew 10% in volume (569 tons) and 11% in value (US $ 1.5 million). On the other hand, shipments to the Netherlands (562 tons for US $ 1.3 million) and Spain (487 tons for US $ 1.2 million) were reduced both in volume and value, with drops of 41% in volume and 43% in value for the first and 33% and 31% for the second.
