Pangasius exports from Vietnam to China reached year-to-date peak in June

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), China and Hong Kong continue to be the largest consumers of Vietnamese pangasius, accounting for 28% of Vietnam's total export value to all markets. In June 2024, the value of Vietnamese pangasius exports to China and Hong Kong reached its highest level since the beginning of the year, amounting to almost $56 million, up 16% from June 2023. Consumers in this market tend to favor frozen pangasius fillet products from Vietnam, with shipments valued at more than $36 million in June 2024, up 8% from the same period in 2023. In the second quarter of 2024, the value of frozen pangasius fillets (HS 0304) to China and Hong Kong reached $92 million, an increase of 1% compared to the same period in 2023.
