During his visit to the Republic of China, President Mario Abdo Benítez of Paraguay participated in a meat product promotion and trade and investment seminar, aiming to attract Taiwanese businessmen to import more pork from Paraguay. The event highlighted the tax, logistic, and geographical benefits for Taiwanese businessmen importing beef and pork from Paraguay. A significant development was the first tasting of Paraguayan pork meat, with the first export shipment expected in a month, marking the opening of the Taiwan market for this meat. A letter of intent was also signed by Taiwanese businessmen expressing interest in importing Paraguayan pork meat, underscoring a new milestone in bilateral trade between the two countries.
