Paraguayan banana can now be exported to Chile

Through Resolution No. 568, dated January 22, 2024, Minagri authorized the export of fresh banana fruits from Paraguay to Chile, in accordance with SAG Resolution No. 146 of 2022 of the Agricultural and Livestock Service of Chile, that establishes specific phytosanitary measures for the entry of this product into its market. “The phytosanitary certification process that Paraguay has is considered verified, which complies with the characteristics and components of the system described in considering 8 of this resolution and that is operated through its competent authority, the National Service of Quality and Plant Health and of Semillas (Senave), allows compliance with SAG resolution No. 146 of 2022, which establishes phytosanitary requirements for the importation of fresh banana fruits (Musa spp.) into Chile,” the document highlights.
