Paraná is the leading exporter in the South region of Brazil, with exports reaching US$ 9.52 billion from January to May 2024, according to the Foreign Trade Secretariat. The state's exports were dominated by soybeans, generating US$ 2.4 billion, followed by fresh chicken meat and soybean meal. The state also exported manufactured products like oils, fuels, and automobiles. The main destinations for these exports were China, the United States, and Mexico. Paraná's trade balance showed a surplus of US$2.2 billion, a positive contribution to the country's foreign exchange reserves.
