Brazil: Paraná exports US$9.52 billion in the first five months of 2024

Exports from Paraná totaled US$ 9.52 billion (R$ 51 billion at current prices) between January and May 2024, consolidating the State as the largest exporter in the South region. Paraná surpassed Santa Catarina, with foreign sales of US$ 4 .59 billion, and Rio Grande do Sul, which recorded revenues of around US$7.44 billion. The data are from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), tabulated by Ipardes (Paraná Institute of Economic and Social Development). In the list of goods exported by Paraná, the highlight was soybeans, responsible for sales of US$ 2.4 billion, which represents a quarter of exports in the first five months of the year. Fresh chicken meat also had a good share, involving business worth US$ 1.51 billion, and soybean meal, with exports of US$ 646 million.
